Life is unpredictable, one day our love- Edin's mom woke up (my wife) and found that she could not see thing properly, headache, pale and bled easily and feel very tired. She then was diagnosed, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), and require blood and platelet transfusion regularly. MDS have symptom similar to acute leukaemia (blood cancer) and could be lethal, and most case is unknown cause. MDS is currently poorly understood and make us recognise an important work for blood cancer research. So we want to raise money to provide some fund for leukaemia research. I and my three years old lovely son (Edin) will run to raise money. First project is to compete in Bupa Great Edinburgh Run. I will compete in 10 km event and my son will run 1.5 km event. We are not professional runner but will run with our heart and true love to our daring. Please support us to raise a fund. We will start training from January to compete event in October. Meanwhile and will update our training and activity regularly via face book and this website. We will run to beat cancer!. Do not let cancer beat us.

เราวิ่งเพื่อหาเงิน ช่วยเหลือ การศึกษาวิจัยโรคมะเร็งเม็ดเลือด
ชีวิตของคนเราไม่แน่นอน อยู่มาวันหนึ่งแม่น้องเอดิน ก็ปวดหัว สายตามองเห็นไม่ชัด และมีเลือดออกตามผิวหนัง ต่อมาเธอถูกวินิจฉัยว่าป่่วยเป็นโรค Myelodysplastic syndrome หรือ MDS เป็นกลุ่มอาการของโรคซึ่งเกิดจากความผิดปรกติของไขกระดูก ซึ่งส่งผลให้ผู้ป่วยมีเม็ดเลือดแดง เม็ดเลือดขาว และเกล็ดเลือดต่ำมาก อาการของโรคจะคล้ายกับมะเร็งเม็ดเลือดขาว ในอดีตแพทย์เรียกโรคนี้ว่า Pre-leukemia เนื่องจากพบว่าผู้ป่วย MDS สามารถพัฒนาเป็นไปเป็นมะเร็งเม็ดเลือดขาวชนิดเฉียบพลัน (acute leukemia) ได้ โรคนี้อาจทำให้คนตายได้โดยฉับพลัน หากรักษาไม่ทันท่วงที และนื่องจากความรู้เรื่องโรคนี้ยังมีไม่มาก และการรักษาค่อนข้างแพง และมีความจำกัด ทำให้เราตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของงานวิจัยเพื่อรักษาโรคเกี่ยวกับมะเร็งเม็ด เลือด เราจึงตั้งเป้าหาเงินช่วยสมทบมูลนิธิวิจัยโรคเม็ดเลือด โครงการแรก ก็คือการเข้าร่วมแข่งขันวิ่งที่เมืองเอดินเบอรก Bupa great Edinburgh run น้องเอดินจะวิ่ง 1.5 กม ส่วนพ่อจะวิ่ง 10 กม เราไม่ใช่นักวิ่งมืออาชีพ แต่วิ่งด้วยหัวใจ และเป้าหมายเดียวกัย คือ ช่วยผู้ป่วยโรคมะเร็ว หวังว่าทุกคน คงช่วยเราทำบุญโดยหาเงินได้ให้ถึงเป้าหมาย เพื่อมอบให้มูลนิธิวิจัยโรคมะเร็วเม็ดเลือดต่อไปนะครับ เพื่อนำไปสร้างความรู้ใหม่เพื่อความเข้าใจและรักษาโรคมะเร็งเม็ดเลือดขาวต่อ ไปในอนาคต ถ้าไม่เจอเข้ากับตัวเองผมก็คงไม่รู้หรอกครับว่าที่เขาบอกว่า ชีวิตมันสั้น ให้ทำความดีเข้าไว มันเป็นอย่างไร
